Best Answer

Iguanodon wasn't the fastest dinosaur known. All we know of dinosaurs is from the fossils we find of them, and from comparisons of those fossils to animals that are still around. For this reason it is extremely difficult to determine the top speed of any dinosaur. What we do know is that some of the fastest dinosaurs were the relatively small ones with very long legs. These include some raptors like Velociraptor, Ornithomimids such as Gallimimus and Ornithomimus. If you include the fact that birds evolved from dinosaurs, than the fastest animal in the world, the Peregrine Falcon, is a dinosaur. When it dives it can exceed 200 miles per hour!
