How long did it take to make the first manned orbit around the sun?

Every person who has lived for more than 1 year has orbited the sun, since the earth does exactly that every 365 days. No person has ever yet orbited the sun while separated from the earth's surface.

How did scientist prove the moon revolved around the earth while revolving around the sun?

Galileo initially showed using phases of the planet venus that it orbited around the sun and not the earth, this supported a new model developed by Copernicus suggesting that the earth orbited the sun and not vice versa. It had always been assumed that the moon orbited the earth. Later with the invention of Newtonian physics, a more concise model of the solar system was developed using the laws of gravity explained that the much smaller earth would orbit around the much larger sun and that the smaller moon would orbit the larger earth.

What evidence did Galileo discover for the sun center model of the solar system?

Galileo discovered Jupiter's Moons. After them for a while, he realized that they orbited around the planet. He took a look at Mars and Venus and realized that they orbited around the Sun. This let him think that the Earth was orbiting the sun as well. His theory here, however, argued against Ptolemic's model thinking that the Earth was the center.

How are ptolemy and copernicus' ideas about the universe different from each other?

Ptolemy and Copernicus' ideas about the universe are different from each other in the sense that Ptolemy thought that every celestial object as well as the sun and the moon orbited the Earth whereas Copernicus had the thought that all planets orbited the Sun, while the Moon orbited the Earth.

Who was the first woman to orbit earth?

Yuri Gagarin was a cosmonaut for the Soviet Union. On April 12, 1961, he became the first human being to travel into space. His spacecraft was called "Vostok I" and it completed a single orbit of the earth in 1 hour and 48 minutes. Yuri Gagarin was aboard but not piloting Vostok 1 on 12 April 1961. While he launched with the capsule, he did not land with it, as the Soviets did not believe that the landing system (landing on land, not water) was sufficient to assure Gagarin's survival. He ejected at 7 km above the ground and landed via parachute. This was technically a departure from the usual international definition of an orbital spaceflight. However, since Gagarin achieved orbit while Alan Shepard (first American in space) did not, the point of which country was first to orbit is moot. Vostok 2 with Gherman Titov aboard completed 17 orbits in August 1961, long before John Glenn's three-orbit flight in February, 1962.

Who was there when the Apollo 11 landed?

Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin were the only men on the moon, while Michael Collins orbited the moon.

Does the moon orbit the sun or the moon?

Both. because the moon goes around the earth while the earth is going around the sun. And that's how it orbits both.

Does the gravity of the sun cause the earth to stay in orbit?

It helps a lot. The sun's gravity holds the Earth near it, while the earth's momentum keeps it going. Think of it like two strings pulling on a ball. One of them is going in a straight line, forwards, and the other is going towards the sun. That's a rough estimate.
