I would imagine that killing for 'fun' really isn't fun at all, especially to the thing that's being killed.
Endangered species should never be hunted, and severe penalties for those that do hunt them should be strictly enforced. That being said, there is nothing wrong with legal hunting of common species, as some culling of the population is necessary for the health of the overall population.
