What are the disadvantages of geothermal energy only?
There are some disadvantages to using only geothermal energy Location - Geothermal plants can't just be built wherever anyone wants. It has to have a suitable amount of geothermal activity. High installation costs. The location can suddenly run out of geothermal activity. Geothermal energy cannot be moved great distances, so it can be used to power only the area around it. Some hazardous substances can come up with the geothermal energy. Many geothermal sources are subject to earthquakes which could damage the system.

Is solar power part of geothermal energy?
Well geothermal energy is heat from the earth so for example some places use steam to power there place and some use the lava from valcanoes so they power there place. I think that solar power is part of geothermal power becase geothermal is heat from earth converted into electricity to power houses and solar power is from earth.

Where is Geothermal power used?
Geothermal power is used all over the world. It's even used on residential scales in a lot of places. The most power is derived from it in Iceland and the Philippines though where nearly 25% of the electricity is generated from geothermal power. What are some problems with geothermal power?
It's not really a problem, per se, but the challenge with geothermal power is that it requires drilling to a geothermal heat source. Since drilling is expensive, geothermal power is most cost-effective in locations where geothermal heat sources are close to the surface and/or the ground is relatively easy to drill through.
