Horses primary way of communicating is body language. They do have some sounds such as a whinney, nicker or snort.

Well horses cant really talk if you know what i mean . They do neigh when they are happy or neigh when they are in disstress ,but mostly use body language for instance they put their ears back flat when they are angry.

It is believed that young horses can hear high pitched sounds up to two miles away. This varies depending on the terrain and the age of the horse, as the hearing begins to decline as the horse ages.

Yes. Horses do have good hearing because they have hairs in their ear that catch the sound waves. A long time ago (and still now) horses were in the wild with no protection so they relied on all their senses.

Horses have very good hearing and ears that can rotate almost 180 degrees. The ears also can move independent of each other so he can hear behind him while listening to what is in front of him.

They hear with the same concept as a human- tiny(microscopic tiny) hair that move on sound waves. Horses ears not only show what their listening to but also express thoughts to other horses.
