If you have a chanse, go and test it out yourself, because pianos (and other instruments like Guitars and drums) have this very distinct feel to it. If you don't like how the keys feel, don't get it. If you like how it feels, consider getting it.
The CDP-2000 is disappointing. Please try another brand such as Casio.
Same as what goes to all gear: Everything is as good as the weakest link. If hypothetically you aren't a good player, you are the weakest link. Not the piano.

I think it was about the middle of 1994 The first CD players became available in the U.S. in 1982 or 1983. The Sony CDP 201 was the first of the second generation players and I bought mine in February of 1984. It still works beautifully.
