I'm Canadian, and I've lived in 3 provinces. Our health care system is very good. It's not perfect, just like anything, but it is very good, and I would never want private health care. Here's one example: my husband's little cousin (she's 8) needed a heart translplant last year. When a heart became available, she flew on a private plane to the transplant location. The heart was flown in from its location of origin on its own place, and the surgery took 8 hours. She then had over three months of recovery to look forward to, all in the hospital. The whole thing cost over $1 000 000. It cost the family absolutely nothing, and it never will. Nor should it. Every child has a right to live, and that is what our health care system is based on. I don't care if it means that my coffee costs 20 cents more.

If you get hurt as tourist in many of these countries you are taken care of just like the citizens of the country. Russia doesn't have good health care and I would leave the country before I would stay in a Russian hospital. The Spanish and Italian aren't bad, but I think the French are better. All in all for the amoiunt of medical knowledge that we have it is a shame that we don't take care of our citizens.
