You dont mention the engine size but I will describe the steps for a 3.8 For the front it is a matter of removing the front lift bracket, the dog bones (front engine mounts), a tensioner pulley (remove at the bracket not the pulley itself), the passenger side cast iron ignition coil bracket(it has the coils on it), unplug the spark plug wires, remove the spark plug wires from the spark plug wire cover, the spark plug wire cover, remove the 6 valve cover bolts and pull the valve cover. For the rear it is a matter of rocking the engine forward to get room to reach back and do the work. Remove the front two dog bones (engine mounts) and rock the engine forward (with the car in park push the car forward but be carefull not too far so the engine doesnt hit the radiator -block in place),possibly remove the alternator bolts and rotate out of the way, unplug the rear bank spark plug wires or disconnect them from the coils and move them out of the way, remove the rear lift bracket, remove the rear engine cover bracket and vaccuum tubes, remove the 6 valve cover bolts and pull the valve cover. Re-assmeble and torque to about 89 in lbs. It is not very difficlut but does require some patients and small arms/hands. Good luck. Hope this helps. "G"

You can change the head gasket by removing the valve cover. Remove the gasket and clean the gasket surface. Put the new head gasket on the cleaned surface.
My husband has the same truck and it only has 90,000 miles on it and he blew a head gasket yesterday. Do you have any suggestions?
By chance, did you use sealant when you put the new gasket on? If not, there is your problem.

: Your firewall drain tube MAY be clogged on the firewall . You can blow it out with compressed air from the engine side of the firewall. It is hard to get too but not impossible.: The other cause could be similar to what I encountered.I had this water leak in my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. It was not a clogged drain on the firewall but a leaking firewall gasket that the drain tube goes through. The gasket was brittle/cracked from heat off the engine. As the vehicle was driven the air entering the engine compartment was forcing the water back towards the worn gasket and it entered the passenger compartment. To replace the gasket was going to be next to impossible. So I purchased a tube of Polyurethane NP caulk from Home Depot. This caulk stays very pliable all year long. I applied it over the gasket area and around the drain tube ...but made sure it did not go in the drain. You may need an extension on the caulk tube to reach the firewall gasket area ... I used a McDonald's straw and taped it to the caulk nozzle to get the caulk on the gasket area. Wear surgical gloves and spread the caulk over the gasket area. 2 years and not a drop of water in the front passenger area of the van.
