The Roman Republic form of government had many things in common with US democracy, most notably perhaps, they both contained a senate. Both systems also contained "checks and balances" to try to prevent one branch of government from becoming too powerful.
The Roman Republic influenced American Government. They let Roman men to vote for leaders, like how America votes for the president or Congress.

First of all, we are a democracy, and that is based of Athens's Government type. Second of all it would be how our buildings are built. It is very Greek and Roman types of buildings.
No part of the United States government is Roman. We have our own unique system of government. Although some concepts of our government may be loosely based on Roman concepts, our system of government is incomparable to any ancient form of rule.
