Airplanes over the past 90 or so years have changed a lot. We have gone from small, propeler driven, fragile, all fabric and wood, 100mph top speed aircraft only able to reach 200 feet in the air at most, to all metal jet aircraft that can double the speed of sound at up to 60,000 feet up.

Aircraft designs now involve jet engines, metal construction, World Wide Electronic Navigation Systems, Carbon Fibre construction in some parts of modern aircraft. Modern aircraft now fly all around not just all over the planet. All of these things have happened since 1903

Since their inception fighter jets have become much more powerful, able to fly faster, higher and carry more weapons . Guns are now almost an anachronism as most modern fighters carry a range of missiles for defence and attack.

Airplanes are better than cars because they have faster transportation, and also you don't have traffic problems, you also are safer in airplanes than cars.
