Two comments: Piranhas are sexual--they have to mate (in piranha the female lays eggs on the river bottom and the male swims over them to fertilize them) to reproduce. To reproduce asexually, piranhas would have to divide, which they don't do. The other comment...piranha live in the Amazon, which is a freshwater river.
