The temperatures at different levels of a volcano differ, because of differences in things such as pressure and material. For a reference number the temperatures of some pyroclastic flows have been known to reach 1,200 °C.

If it is not erupting (which is most of the time for most volcanoes), the temperature will be no different from that of an ordinary mountain. Lava flows during eruptions may be as hot as 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, though.
