Troposphere ranges from 15C to -55C
Stratosphere ranges from -55C to 0C
Mesosphere ranges from 0C to -90C
Thermosphere ranges from -90C to above 100C
it is because all the layers have tempatures that are either cold or hot
hot air balloons
because the air inside the balloon is heavier than the air outside in the other layers of the atmosphere
Hot air balloons
The outside layers of the atmosphere are very cold, as they get little heat from the Sun. The surface is unreachable beneath the hot, extremely dense lower atmosphere.
Why are there so many layers in the atmosphere
The Earth's crust has layers, the atmosphere has layers, and certain types of cake have layers.
Layers of the atmosphere are the stratosphere, troposphere, mesosphere, thermosphere and exosphere.
It is because some layers have gases that have gases that easily absorb the Sun's energy while the other layer do not. So some layer become cold and some layers become warm or hot. Please see the wikipedia page on the Earth's Atmosphere at the link below.
All the layers of atmosphere are alike. They all contain air.
Temperature is the property used to distinguish the layers of the atmosphere
Layers of Earth's atmosphere can be quite hot, causing the burning up that results in us seeing meteors.
