Mostly in negative ways today, since we kill them as pests and predators, but anciently, we were buddies. About the time the wolf was getting domesticated in China (est. 15,000 ybp), man brought the ancestors of the dingo to Australia (some think it was even earlier, since man was there well before that, in which case dingoes are actually man's first non-human companions).

Curiously, the Aborigines did not call theirwolf-children "dingoes"; that was their term for the white settlers' dogs. The animal we know as Canis lupus dingo was the "warrigal."
