How if cable works in microwave microwave?

As we are so often forced to do around here, I'm going to take the words

in the question, massage them and rearrange them to form a question

that makes some sense, and then answer the question that I made up.

The other option is to just flush the question down the byte-pipe.

-- Where the question has "if", I'll assume that it refers to "IF" ... the

Intermediate Frequency signal in a receiver after the received signal

is mixed with the local oscillator.

-- And where it says "microwave microwave", I'm going out on a limb

and assuming it's actually talking about a microwave radio receiver.

(Does anybody see a better way to handle this one ? ?)

The IF cable in a microwave radio receiver simply takes the IF signal ...

after it's been down-converted, amplified, amplitude-limited, band-limited,

and perhaps passband-shaped ... and delivers it to the baseband section,

where it'll be demodulated, probably demultiplexed, and the business traffic

delivered to the end user.

I mean it's just a piece of miniature coax cable for gosh sakes !
