There are Easter egg hunts, decorated eggs and time is spent with family and friends. In some areas, there are festivals and other events.

It is celebrated from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday in Spain, Mexico and Guatemala.
British people celebrate Easter by giving out Chocolate eggs to their friends and family. For younger children, some relatives play the part of the 'Easter Bunny' who give the chocolate eggs. Some families have Easter egg hunts and parties.

In the UK and Ireland, Mothering Sunday (also know as "Mothers' Day") is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday. As Easter Sunday is a moveable feast, Mother's day is celebrated on a different date each year. It was originally the Sunday that you returned to the Church where you had been baptised: your Mother Church. It is also a Sunday celebrated in honour of the Virgin Mary.
