Yes all dogs are descendents of the grey wolf. Domesticated dogs (purebred dogs specifically) have been deliberately bred over time to maintain certain characteristics such as size, temperment, etc.
Unfortunitly, yes. The tiny [barely a] dog is a far descendant of the gray wolf.
