No, It is not used for respiration instead it is used for the movement or locomotion of body.
The capillarys are in the lungs and blood flows trough them.As far as I know, blood does not flow back through the capillarys so it most likely does not flow back through the capillary beds.
If you are looking for a single organelle, then I would say the mitochondria. They are the site of respiration and are adapted for efficient gas exchange.
