In the old days they just stuck a vent hose out the top of the tank. Now they run that hose to the engine compartment and burn the fumes under the proper conditions.
Vented.
the gas tank is vented to the emission canister(looks likes a coffee can)
The gas tank in a 1967 Chevelle is vented..Just restoring mine..
No. The vent hose is under the tank
pressure in the fuel tank with out a vented gas cap
if tank is pressurizing, clean the fuel tank capthses are supposed to be vented to eliminate pressurizingif that doesnt work, buy a new vented capcheck your evap system.
It is a 15 gal. Gas tank on them cars I have one.
No
could it be pressure on tank due to unvented gas cap? try running with vented cap.
Possible, but not likely. They are all vented. If it's metal, maybe it was rust, or vandalism, or you bottomed out on something.
A vented gas cap vents the gas fumes into the atmosphere. A non-vented cap system routes the fumes thru the engine to be burned.
A 2004 Volkswagen bug's gas tank can hold approximately 14 to 14 and a half gallons of gas. This is typical of cars not only manufactured in 2004 but many cars today still have this tank capacity.
