A very simple list of the steps:
The cotton boles are picked from the cotton plant (in the US this is done by machine) and formed into a bale of cotton which is then sent to the cotton gin to remove the seeds. Then the cotton fiber is turned into thread and woven into fabric at appropriate factories. Where I live, we often have the first bale of cotton in the country (US), which is picked by hand and machine.
The very fluffy tip also known as the "flower" on the tip of the stem . Also the seeds are removed so your clothes aren't itchy
Raw cotton from the cotton plant has the seeds removed. The cotton is carded by combs to line up the fibers, which are twisted (spun) into long threads.
First the cotton gets picked afterwards it gets cleaned and also get dyed, or whitened, then spun into thin threads. Then the threads gets woven into cloth. After the cloth gets cut into pieces and stitched together as clothes.
most cotton for denim is grown in the US, there are cotton bushes that are when in season look like cotton balls, then the cotton is turned into thread and woven to turn to denim
