a carbon atom has 6 protons and electrons and nuetrons where as an oxygen atom has 8 of each. the carbon atom also tends to mix with more because there is more room in the 2nd orbital area for valence electrons. :)

Mini Dictionary:

-proton: a positive particle found in the middle (nucleas) of an atom

-nuetron: a nutreal particle found also in the nucleas that holds the atom together

-electron: a negitivly charged particle orbiting the nucleas. so tiny it doesnt weigh into the atom

- valence electron: electrons on the outside orbital area of an atom

The best way would probably be to chemically decompose the carbon dioxide into carbon and oxygen.

Can you turn oxygon into carbon dixoid?

Yes. The combustion of anything involves using oxygen with a carbon source and converting to CO2

Are carbon atom that attach to four another carbons chiral atom or no?

If a carbon atom forms four covalent bonds with four different atoms or groups, the particular carbon is said to be chiral. And the molecule shows stereoisomerism around that atom.

How many different substituents are required on a carbon atom for it to be chiral?

A carbon atom needs to have 4 different substituents bonded to it in order for it to be chiral. This is known as a chiral carbon or a stereocenter.

Does an atom of carbon have the same mass of oxygen?

Carbon and oxygen or two different elements, with different masses.

What is a carbon atom to which four different atoms or groups are attached?

A carbon atom with four different atoms or groups attached is called a chiral carbon atom. It is also known as a stereocenter and gives rise to optical isomerism in molecules.

Is an asymmetric carbon atom attached to four different atoms or groups?

By definition, an asymmetric carbon atom is one that is bonded to four different types of atoms or groups, hence, only one can be a hydrogen atom. If there were two hydrogen atoms you would not have four different kinds of atoms.

How many atoms can bond with a single carbon atom?

carbon can bond with 4 different atoms.

How is an oxygen atom different from a carbon atom?

An oxygen atom has 8 protons in its nucleus, while a carbon atom has 6. Oxygen usually forms two bonds when it participates in chemical reactions, while carbon can form up to four bonds. This difference in bonding capacity leads to their different roles in forming molecules.

Are carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide compounds?

Yes, both carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) are compounds that contain carbon and oxygen. Carbon dioxide is composed of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms, while carbon monoxide is composed of one carbon atom and one oxygen atom.

What is the difference between the isotope of carbon and hydrogen?

There are many differences between a hydrogen atom and a carbon atom. Most importantly, the number of protons and electrons within the atom. This is what gives atom's their characteristics. Hydrogen is a gas at room temperature, while carbon is a solid at room temperature.
