It would not be directly related to CTS. TFCC is a tear of cartilage/ligament structure on top of your wrist area. CTS has to do with compression of the median nerve on the other side (palm side) of wrist. Perhaps if you had trauma to your wrist causing a TFCC tear or wrist fracture etc...this may cause swelling, inflammation of the carpal tunnel area which could put pressure on the median nerve..eventually causing CTS.

How long does it take to recover from tfcc surgery?

I've had TFCC debridement on both my left and right wrists. The first surgery was on my left wrist about 5 years ago. From memory, I think it took around 12 months before I started to feel any benefit. Following the 12 month period I would have to say there is only a modest improvement in pain from the original injury. Since this time my left wrist has been bearable as long as I don't try push-ups or anything involving my plan being flat with weight over the top of the palm... Mt second surgery was on my right wrist approximately 12 months ago, unfortunately this time around I have not noticed any improvement with the pain in my right wrist, in fact I believe it is now more irritable and painful than it was post surgery. Hopefully things will improve, I had a hand surgeon with an excellent reputation perform the surgery on both occasions. As pain management I try to steer clear of pharmaceutical drugs (standard anti-inflammatory drugs).... I've used a Curcumin supplement which definitely feels as though it reduces the pain in my wrist.
