Sanitation is the key to animal health because if animals are producing "bad bacteria" such as urine and feces in wet bedding or in unclean facilities, then the bad bacteria have a much faster and higher growth rate. They will multiply at a much higher exponential rate than in clean, dry bedding.

-If that bacteria is not properly removed of, then it has a much easier way of finding its way into the animals' mouths, infecting their entire bodily system.

Is herd is to cow same or different to school is to group?

Different. You are talking about two completely different associations. A herd is a group of cows, where as "cow" is individualistic. A school is a place for a group (or groups) of children to gather. There is no individualism there, nor any similar association. The answer might be "same" if you had "herd is to cow as group is to child", or "pasture is to herd as school is to group." This is because these two examples directly associate with each other, or are related as a group to an individual or a place to a group, respectively.

Do African elephant live in groups?

Elephants are very social creatures. Both African and Asian elephants live in groups called herds. The herd is made up of cows or female elephants. Male or bull elephants leave their herd when 10-15 and join bachelor herds. The leader of a female elephant herd is called a matriarch. The matriarch is the oldest and most experienced elephant in the herd. The herd is usually made up of elephants they are related. If the herd becomes to big, the herd splits up, but stays close so the two herds can stay in touch.

What is the importance of living in a herd of elephants?

Elephants usually form family based herds, composed and led by an elder female (The Monarch) with related females and their young, and older juvenile males not yet old enough to leave the herd and venture forth. Adult bull elephants tend to roam from herd to herd.
