Burning fossil fuels releases long-hidden carbon dioxide into the other greenhouse gases overloading the greenhouse effect.
Global warming is linked to the atmosphere on multiple fronts:Solar Radiation: The sun warms the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.Atmospheric Composition: The composition of the atmosphere determines the severity of the greenhouse effect. Since the Industrial Revolution we have been releasing more and more carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuel (300 million-year-old carbon). This extra carbon is causing the accelerated greenhouse effect.

greenhouse
One of the raw materials used in photosynthesis is carbon dioxide. The overproduction of this molecule due to the burning of fossil fuels among other human activities has been linked to global warming effects.
Water vapor absorbs infrared heat in the atmosphere so it it classed as a greenhouse gas. However, man can not add water to the atmosphere, and water moves in and out of the atmosphere very quickly, so it can't be controlled. The natural water cycle is responsible for the movement of water and water vapor. As carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases raise the temperature in the atmosphere more water vapor is able to rise into the atmosphere. This circular effect causes more warming than before.
Oil is a carbon-rich substance, and by burning it, we release a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so this can increase the Greenhouse Effect, which is linked to global warming.
when you burn fossil fuels you get greenhouse gasses but that causes global warming so that causes two damages to the earth and enviorment.

There are 5 major greenhouse gasses: water vapour, carbon dioxide (also known as CO2), methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. Water vapour is the strongest greenhouse gas but it happens largely naturally (ie ocean water evaporates when the sun shines on it). The other four are largely anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gasses. See chart linked below for detailed information on greenhouse gasses (GHG's) and their contribution to the greenhouse effect.
There are many:Greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide caused by burning fossil fuels in transport and to generate electricitycow flatulence, methane, a greenhouse gas 20 times stronger than carbon dioxideDeforestation, destroying the great forests of the world that used to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.have all been linked to Global Warming.
The ozone is depleted due to greenhouse gases. Pollution causes these greenhouse gases.

It's not. Burning any fossil fuel releases CO, CO2, SO2 and other not so great chemicals into the air. All those chemical in the air cause smog in big cities and have been linked to certain health problems (asthma in particular)
