Asked in Government
Which type of government has a president as a leader?
Is South America's president the same as North America's president?
South America and North America are continents. A continent contains a number of countries, and each of those countries has its own leader. For example, in South America, there are countries like Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and Venezuela. Each one has its own government and its own president. North America is also like that: it contains Canada (which has a prime minister), the United States of America (which has a president), and Mexico (which has a president). Thus, there is no one person who is "president of North America" or "President of South America." A continent does not have only one leader, in other words; it has as many leaders as there are countries.
Asked in Political Office Holders, Barack Obama
Who is our president right now?
If you are asking about the United States, the current president, until the 2016 election, is Barack Obama. But other countries, like Mexico, also have a president. In some countries, like England, the leader is called a prime minister; and in a few countries, there are both a president and a prime minister-- Russia and Israel are examples of this.

Asked in Political Office Holders
Can the president fire the senate majority leader?
No, he has no legal powers over who acts as a majority leader in the legislative branch. Article 1 of the US Constitution gives each House of Congress the power to adopt its own rules and elect its own officers. The President does not appoint the majority leader. That position is not a governmental position, like the Speaker of the House or President pro tempore of the Senate, therefore it is not a job from which they can be fired, especially if the majority leader is of a different political party than the President. But for all practical purposes, if the majority leader and the President are of the same political party, he probably has enough political power over that leader to ask him or her to resign and out of deference to the President, he or she probably would.
Asked in Mexico, Dictatorship
Does Mexico have a dictator or a president?
Mexico is a "federal presidential representative democratic republic" whose government is based on a congressional system, whereby the president of Mexico is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party electoral system. In short, it has a form of government much like that of the United States.
