When you change the amount of a substance the time it takes to reach the boiling point then what happens?

The lower the amount of substance, the faster it reaches the boiling point. The more the amount of substance, the longer it takes to reach the boiling point. Hope that this is what you wanted to know! :)

What happens at a substance's boiling point?

Its vapor pressure equals atmospheric pressure.

What happens when a substance is distilled?

Components are separated depending on the boiling point.

Liquid be seen running from the bottom of the distillation column back into the distilling?

The reason it happens because the lower boiling point substance vaporizes and crosses over while the other substance is waiting for its boiling point to reach

Going from a gas to a liquid?

The phase change from a liquid to a gas is called vaporization which happens at the boiling temperature of a substance.

What happens when you add a small amount of impurity to silicon it turns into a?

semiconductor.

What is a psyhical reaction?

A physical reaction, or change, is one that can be observed without changing the chemical composition of the substance. Boiling is a physical change because the substance that is boiling does not change its chemical composition. For example, water is still H2O whether it is boiling or not boiling.

How can the temp of a substance remain the same if it is absorbing energy?

This happens during boiling and freezing the energy being absorbed is going into making the state change.

If a substance is not at its melting or boiling point as the heat content of a sample of matter increases what happens?

As the heat content increases, the temperature of the substance will rise. However, if the substance is not at its melting or boiling point, it will not undergo a phase change. Instead, its temperature will continue to increase until it reaches its melting or boiling point, at which point a phase change will occur.

What happens to particles when condesing?

When particles are condensing in a substance, they combine into fewer, larger particles. These larger particles become the liquid's mass at its condensation or boiling temperature.

What happens to the boiling point of benzene when a solute is added?

if you put an ionic compound in a polar substance it will raise the boiling point because the resulting ion dipole bonds will be stronger than the previously existing dipole dipole bonds

What happens to the boiling point of a substance when you go higher above sea level?

The boiling point of water will decrease. At high altitudes, air pressure is lower, so it is easier for the water molecules to "escape" into the air as gas molecules.
