The oversight of our worldwide activity is handled by the Gverning Body of Jehovah' Witnesses. This is a body of elders which usually consists of 12 or 13 members. They send out traveling representatives who may be referred to as Zone Overseers or Country Coordinators. Usually these traveling overseers will proside over a branch office which are located in various countries all over the earth. From there, District Overseers will preside over several circuits. Each circuit has 20 or so congregations and is presided over by a Circuit Overseer. Each congregation has about 100-125 members who are referred to as publishers. In each congregation there will be a body of elders who are qualified ministers with a great deal of knowlegde and experience. How many elders there are o each elder body will be determined by how many publishers there are in each congregation a how many there are that qualify to take the lead in the congregation. The elders are assisted by Ministerial Servants who are viewed by many as elders-in-training. The Ministerial Servants perform many of the physica tasks that the congregation needs, while the elders will handle the teaching aspect of the congregation needs. Of all of these ministerial servants, elders, traveling overseers, and so forth, all are voluntary. No one is paid for their services to the worldwide botherhood. All of this serves to keep the organization in unity and operating efficiently, focusing on our main goal of preaching God's Kingdom worldwide.
