Small amounts of water vapour can be produced as part of the combustion process. When the petrol / air mixture ignites in the combustion chamber of the cylinders, the waste by-products are carbon monoxide gas plus a small quantity of carbon DIoxide. The carbon dioxide sometimes reacts with left-over oxygen to produce water vapour, which can then condense into droplets in the exhaust system. This is why you can sometimes see occasional drops of water falling from the tailpipes of stationary vehicles that have their engines idling.

Why is water good to use in a car engine?

Water is good to use in a car engine for a couple of reasons: 1) To clean the engine out 2) If it's a water-cooled car engine, it's good to use so you don't over-heat and destroy the engine.
