Doctors are in demand, especially general practitioners. There is actually a shortage of general practitioners or family doctors, because so many doctors these days choose to specialize. If a med school grad enters general medicine, there should be no problem finding a job, especially in rural areas.

Is Snead State of Alabama an acredited school to become a doctor?

If I am correct, Snead State is a community college, so it could not confer a doctor of medicine degree, but you could attend Snead State, graduate with your associate's degree then use those credits at the University of Alabama, graduate with a bachelor's degree from there, and then apply to medical school. University of Alabama also has a medical school in Birmingham, and it is actually quite nice. I was there on a conference once.

What are the needed skills to become a GP?

After graduating from high school, a student that wants to become a Pediatrician must finish: • four years of college • four years of medical school • one year of a Pediatrics internship • two years of a Pediatrics residency So that adds up to about 11 years of school and training to become a Pediatrician. It is important to note that during your internship and residency years, while you are still learning, you are not really in school and are getting paid for your work. As an alternative, you could apply for an accelerated college/medical school program, which can compress those eight years of school into just six or seven years. Viper1
