When the dogs are born their tail is fairly long. Normal leagnth. But breeders usually dock (Cut) their tail when they are puppies.
Well most botons are born with a screw tails in skin, to register them for the Kennel but some breeds do cut the tail off because if it is too deep in the skin, cutting in the skin then the vet tell the breeder to have it cute, that is why some are short, also some breeder cut them because they want them to have short tails like natural bostons that the Kennel club require but if it looks cut and don't have a screw tail then they consider that it is a mix breed and not full blooded, just like the nose you can buy a Boston with a pink dot on it nose but it should turn black by 1yr then if not the kennel consider it to be a mixed breed. But breeders don;t tell you that.
Well depends . If its a really small one like mine it's short. Maybe like half a inch to an inch. But if its on the bigger size i'd say about an inch.
Boston terriers are born with tails. However, the actual size of the dog's tail can vary from one dog to the other. Most are just very small nubs. These nubs are very small tails, about 1 inch long. And their tails wag up and down instead of side to side.
No they don't. The American Kennel Club is tyring to bring back the long tail.
they don't have the nerve endings to do it
Pug Boston terriors have curly tails because they must have got that part from the pug parent.
Yes, Boston Terriers can have their tails docked. However, Boston Terriers with docked tails are disapproved or even disqualified by some reputable kennel clubs such as the American Kennel Club (AKC). Docking of tails on dogs is also banned in some countires, including the United Kingdom. Some people believe that docking is cruel, as this process is done when the puppy is only a few days old and causes great pain. Docking is also unnecessary, and should not be done unless if you want to enter the dog into a dog show in the future.
Although it is unusual, a Boston Terriers tail can be crooked, have bumps, or the dog may have no tail at all.
boston terriers....I've had both, but definetly boston terriers are more social and better with children and shedding!
There are no such thing as Boston pug terriers but Boston terriers and pugs are both short haired.
