I am now 16 years old and have had newts for about "6 years in this time i have learnt a lot about the fire bellied newt i have 9 in total and they are grate pets to keep and easy to look after . they grow about 5 inch but my oldest 1 is 6 year old and it is newly 6.5inch there life span is hard to tell because pet shops and pet shelters say they live for about 2 years i think this is inaccurate i think they live more like 4/5 years give or take. i have also learnt that they are not keen on water with chlorine as the come out in a rash after a small amount of time . they like about 65% water and 35% land with a few plant in but please cheque because some can harm the newt . also every 6 mounts swap the tank about a little they enjoy new surrounding remember cheque the water every day to check it is clean and smell free last of all they eat blood worms and small coped ma-
