I think this is a very god question....Certainly one I never thought about in 33 yrs. of tattooing...... Being as it takes 3-4 weeks to completely heal a tattoo that is probably the longest you would have to wait.....Depending on where the tattoo is to where your dying your hair, it probalby wouldn't be that long....Sorry I can't be more helpful.....TB
