The tried and true method is good old fashioned Ivermectin. The easy way to remember is to do it when your farrier comes every 6 to 8 weeks. During more worm ridden seasons, such as the summer months in the south, you should also do the Daily Feed Thru Wormers such as Strongid.

∙ 12y agoThe time will vary between dewormings. If you are still using a rotational deworming program you need to stop. That type of deworming schedule is actually bad for the horses health. You should consult with an equine vet about Fecal Egg count tests and targeted deworming.
