There was no time limit or constraint as to how long or how little a dynasty could rule.

A dynasty in ancient China was basically the time period where people of same lineage (family) were the ruling authority or in imperial China's case : emperor.

A dynasty started when China was under full (or near full) control of a new family and ended when the emperor of that family was deposed. Thus there were no time limits.
