It all depends really, but if you put the egg in cold water you will get your answer. If it floats its rotten and if it sinks its still a farm fresh egg.
Actually farm fresh eggs are healthier, lower in cholesterol and higher in omega 3.
Both are healthy but fresh farm eggs taste better and maintain more minerals and vitamins.
I just bought an emu egg from an emu farm. The owner of the farm told me 1 hour and 45 minutes to hard boil the egg.
About 2-3 weeks

Either the egg wasn't boiled long enough, or the egg is rotten. Or the egg is too fresh.
When hard boiling eggs which are not very fresh the yolk can migrate to the outer edges. If you want to keep the yolk in the centre of the egg, buy very fresh eggs! I buy mine direct from the farm.
the egg will be in good condition for about 3 months in the refrigerator
An egg can be fresh or several weeks old when you buy it. The best way to test for freshness is to put the eggs in a bowl of water. If the egg lays flat it is fresh, if it trys to stand on edge it is less fresh, but still okay. If it trys to float, do not use it.
Because by the time it got to you, it could have been around for months, and it was poor quality to begin with thanks to the conditions the chickens are kept. If you want long-lasting eggs, go to the smallest farm you can and see if you can drop by once a week to buy fresh eggs from them. I keep chickens and their eggs are still good a month after we collect them.
