In 1971, Sea World aquarium in San Diego Ca. got a killer whale, which they named Shamu. In order that the general public would not know how long killer whales live in captivity (which isn't as long as they live in the wild), Sea World names most of their killer whales Shamu. The original (1971) Shamu died a long time ago.

not as long as they do in the wild. Although it is common for captive bred Killer whales not to live as long as they do in the wild, there have been some exceptional cases where they have lived for upto forty years in captivity.
Killer whales have an extremely long tongue, but it cannot come far out of their mouth. The tongue is usually about 3 feet long!
