If they have a cold sore or fever blisters (which are caused by oral herpes) then don't kiss them until the break out goes away. Oral herpes is very contagious while there are any signs or symptoms of a break out. You have a very high chance of getting it if you kiss some one on the mouth while they have a cold sore or fever blister.
It's safer to kiss some one while they don't have any sores or blisters on their mouth.
