frozen meats can last upto 3 years in a freezer but can not be defrosted then re-freezed due to the bacteria in the meats not being dormant.
once meat has been de-frosted it has to be cooked within 3 days 4 maximum
Hot Dogs and luncheon meats - 1 to 2 months
Bacon and Sausage - 1 to 2 months
Ham - 1 to 2 months
Poultry, cooked - 4 to 6 months
Poultry, fresh (uncooked) - 9 months to 1 year
Fish and seafood, uncooked - 2 to 3 months
Fish and Seafood, cooked - 3 to 6 months
Steaks, chops, roasts, etc. - 6 to 12 months
Depending upon the type of meat most will be edible for 2 or 3 months. Uncooked steaks, chops and wild game will genrally keep 8 to 12 months.
If you vacuum seal it, it should last for years
you can deep freeze meat up to 3 months but be sure when you go to use it that it has not freezer burned
depends maybe less than a month?
For a long as you like as long as the meat stays completely frozen. Some mammoth carcasses have been found that have been frozen for tens of thousands of years and the meat still exists.
It will depend on whether you intend to keep the meat frozen once you reach your destination or whether you intend to use it soon. The meat will stay good as long as you keep it as cold as possible. To keep it frozen, you should pack it firmly in ice in a cooler.
If the meat was safe when frozen, it should still be safe bacteriologically. If the meat has become rancid, someone's stomach might object to that.
20 years
Ice is fine. My frozen meat lasted 50 hours
depends what its marinaded in if tomato it should be fine
As temperature effects the decomposition of meats, keeping a meat frozen should prevent any microbacterial growth regardless of how long it is kept.
Once you thaw frozen meat you should use it within a few days as long as it has been in the fridge. Refreezeing the meat will cause water chrystals to form in the meat tearing the bnonds in the muscles. Where as it is safe to eat it will not taste nearly as good and have a bad texture it is technically safe to eat.
Food which has been cooked can be frozen, even if it was frozen prior to cooking. BUT Frozen food which has been thawed, but not cooked, should never be re-frozen. Nor should food which was cooked, frozen and thawed.
Once meat is in a FROZEN STATE than it can be good for about a year.
A week is a little long to keep the meat refrigerated. You can be sure it will be good for 3 to 5 days. To keep it longer, you should freeze the meat.
I do it all the time when cooking for the week ahead
