Bank Cheques are valid only for 90 days to 180 days (Depending on the Country) from the date of issue. If it crosses this date, it is considered a Stale or Expired cheque and has no monetary value.

So, if you want money paid for the check, you need to cash it within the expiry date or you can keep it forever with yourself but it will be worthless beyond the expiration date.
