You can keep a live lobster for approximately 12 hours. It should be kept in the refrigerator. Never put the lobster in a sink filled with water, the fresh water will kill it.
Perhaps cooked lobster could keep up to four days in the refrigerator, but it would be best to use within a day or two. How long it lasts will depend upon the quality of the lobster to begin with and the handling.

well I am just taking a shoot in the dark here but I do not think that you would want to keep a lobster as a pet I mean I would not but I think you could just keep any lobster as a pet as long as it is not on the endangered list.
