7 years 1912 - 1919, It actually went on from 1914 to 1918. it ended on November 11 1918 and started July 28th 1914 so it lasted for 4 years. however, when the final account was signed to end WW1 fighting still continued afterwards and slowly died down. Hopw this helps :)
