My heavens no!! have you ever head of hatshepsut?? she was a very powerful ruler of egypt and not too long ago, egyptologists found her mummified body. So no... it was not only men that were mummified. although it may seem like it because mostly men were rulers of egypt but mummies werent always rulers or pharaohs, occasionaly they were great people who just were very important and the Egyptians thought they deserved life after death as well, so they mummified them. hope this helps :)
70-40 days
Ancient Egyptians believed in the after life. Mummification is the most well-body-preserving death ritual. Being mummified, the dead person could have his body preserved for a very long time, as we realise nowadays when we take a look at the discovered mummies. The pharaohs were mummified in order to lead a good life in the afterlife in which they believed in. The process (which took 70 days) was a pretty developed one. The objects found a pharaoh's tomb led scientist to the conclusion that every object in the tomb was there in order to ease the dead's afterlife.
for 1 or 2 days
It can stay for centuries. Cocaine has been detected in mummies hundreds of years old.
entire mummification process took about 60 days, thus meaning the funeral and final burial of ancient Egyptian mummies occurred at least two months after death
Never does
because ... *sigh* after a Pharaoh dies he must be mummified. the process of being mummified takes a long time. they must remove your organs, stuff you, wrap you in linen, give you wishes, spells, and gifts. if you want to do it right it takes a long time
Mummies didn't live anywhere. A mummy is what you get when you dry out and make a nice parcel out of a dead body. The place most associated with mummies is Egypt.
at least a few thousands years
No one can cheat death
Anyone in Egypt could get mummified as long as they could afford it. Also, if you pay more money your mummy will be of more quality and better preserved.
