On wednesdays some french children don't go to school at all and if they do go into school it is only for half a day. If they don't go into school on wednesdays then they go to school on Saturday for half a day they also work a lot longer hours than English children do
I'm french and I go to french school and I don't have to wear a uniform. But some schools have them. I guess it depends what school u go to.

French children have all of wednesdsay off school so that they can go to church. Because of this they have to go into school on Saturday mornings, and any detentions are held on Saturday afternoons, after everybody else has left.
