There is only one way to negate his effect and that is by using a effect negation card the moment it is summoned as jinzo's effect is spell speed 2 your cards effect will work first.
If I summon a monster like Tiger Dragon and my opponent activates a trap hole do my effects still work and if not to much to ask can you give me some examples of other cards and effects?
Because Tiger Dragon is a triggered effect, just as long as the summon is not negated, then its effect will already activate, even before cards like Trap Hole can be used against it. Same for the Monarchs, etc. Then even though they are destroyed by the Trap Hole, this does not stop their effects resolving as normal.
Can Jinzo in Yu-Gi-Oh be stopped with the Horn of Heaven?
If Jinzo is summoned it can be targetted by trap cards to stop it, once it has been succesfully summoned it's effect takes place and stops trap cards being activated. E.g you summon Jinzo, your opponent can immediately activate horn of heaven to destroy it. If Jinzo is already on the field then no trap cards can be activated. *Once he is summoned, he is impossible to stop with traps. If your trap says "negate the summon," then he was never summoned, and therefore didn't stop the trap. Otherwise it doesn't work. That is how you can tell in the future as well. -Dragonheart91*

Yes, trap hole would work because with 7 cards removed, Gren's Original attack and defense would be 2800, which is greater than the 1000 limit. However, if you had 2 cards removed when you summoned it, trap hole would not work, and you would be free to remove more cards to increase his attack and defense from 800 to whatever. Hope I helped!

Normal summon, no. Special summon, yes.The reason is, when Obelisk is normal summoned, no spells, traps or monster effects can be activated. That means it prevents anything being activated in the 'summon response' window, which is where you'd normally use cards like Trap Hole, Bottomless Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute, etc.
