Education compresses experience - management jobs vary by field. A manager at a fast food restaurant doesn't need much college. Many service industries will prefer a 2-year degree in business so the manager can do the basic math and other things needed to manage payroll. A 4-year business degree is ideal for management. An MBA opens lots of doors for senior management positions.
Usually you would need a Bachelor's degree (4-5 years) from an accredited university/college. Preferably, you would have some sort of business-related degree.
