Nix is actually sold as a treatment for lice but it can also be used for treating scabies.
Scabies are mites that burrow under your skin. They are most often found in your armpits, around your waist or breasts, between your fingers or toes, around your buttocks, around your ankles, the soles of your feet or on your genitals. They cause intense itching that can be worse at night.
Using Nix to treat scabies:
1 - Apply a thin coat of Nix Cream Rinse over your entire body from the neck down, and rub it in well. Leave it on your skin for at least 8 hours but no more than 14 hours. (Infants over 2 months of age should be treated on the scalp, temple and forehead also. Talk to a doctor about treating infants younger than 2 months of age.)
2 - Wash yourself thoroughly to remove all of the Nix. One treatment is usually sufficient to get rid of scabies.
Other scabicides you can purchase over the counter (OTC) include Acticin and Elimite.
More information on treating scabies at link.
Wash it out "no longer than 10 minutes" after application.

Anyone with hair on their head can get head lice. Bald people can't get head lice, so for a long time the cure was to shave your head. But now you can buy special shampoo that kills lice.
Don't do it. It will make you feel ill (I speak from experience).
As long as they have hair, men can get head lice. Head lice have the ability to appear on anyone who has hair, whether it be a child, man, or woman. If you do get lice, purchase "Lice Hero" to get rid of them. You will need to use the shampoo and then comb out the lice eggs to prevent more from hatching.
No. As long as there is hair on your head and you don't treat the lice, they will continue to live.
Once children have lice in their hair, they will keep them until treated. The lice process is: adult lice transfer from one head to another, the female lice lay eggs, the eggs hatch within 7 days the baby lice grow, they lay eggs and the whole process repeats itself.
Basically, head lice live for up to 7 days. Each day they can lay up to 100 eggs a day. They keep hatching and the routine goes on and on.

hair lice are creatures that get in your hair by your head being too near to another person who's head does have head lice. Warning: No matter how old or young, however long or short your hair is you can still catch head lice. The lice sucks you blood from you head and that makes it itch. The best thing to do is to wash you hair daily and with shampoo and conditioner. There is some special lice shampoo too. I had head lice and its a pain in the butt.
lice can live only one to two days with out an host.
