When hard-boiling eggs, cover them with enough cold water to measure about 1 inch over the top of the eggs. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Drain the water off, and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. They are now ready to use.
7-9 minutes. before boiling, poke a hole in the rounded bottom of the egg so the air can be let out when placed in the water.
Improve:
I don't think putting the hole through the shell (as I stated in my original answer) will change cooking time, and it certainly isn't tedious to do so, but it will produce perfectly shaped eggs for making stuffed eggs.

If you put them all in the same pan and boil them at the same time then the same time it would take to boil one egg, so the answer is 3 to 4 minutes for soft boiled eggs, 6 to 7 minutes for hard boiled eggs. Refresh the hard boiled eggs in cold water after cooking to stop a black ring forming around the yolk.
for hard boiled eggs, boil each egg 8 minutes
no more than two hours

Hard boiled eggs should be stored in the fridge and last arround a weeK.If shells crack eat them first, and store the good ones for later.
You can put them right into the fridge. It'll make the refrigerator work a little harder to cool them off, but there's no food-related reason not to. This assumes you're leaving them in the shell. If you're peeling first, it always helps to put them in cold water first anyway.
I would assume, so long as nothing is added, they should be the same in nutritional value.
Life of Shelled Hard-Boiled EggAlthough it is boiled the shell provides the protection for the egg, a hard boiled egg will stay refrigerated between 3-5 days. However, the eggs will be harder to peel if not shelled shortly after cooking. According to Alton Brown's Food Network TV show, Good Eats, whole, peeled hard boiled eggs can be stored in an air-tight container and covered with cold water. They will last up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
I always boil eggs for at least 20 minutes just to be safe.
For hard boiled, soft boiled, or medium eggs, go to foodnetwork.com and type in boiled eggs. If you are poaching them, try different times, because egggs are different sizes. If you are doing something with eggs, go to foodnetwork.com, because they answer all my food questions. : )
Not home-cooked ones. Some commercially-produced hard cooked eggs can keep that long, but I wouldn't call them 'fresh'. See Related Links.
you have cooked it too long, eggs should only be cooked for 14 minutes after coming to a full rolling boil
