I own several PCP air guns and rifles. First of all I never leave them totally filled with air. I take them down to around 500 lbs. This is enough to keep the seals closed. leaving them fully charged can damage the seals over time. When I need them, then is the time they get pumped back up.

Every model is different so I can't tell you how many shots you get out of a charge.
3 things.. accuracy, range, and persistence. a sniper can be any rifle or pistol of any caliber just some are alot better like the barrett but a sniper rifle needs to be accurate when you fire upon the target, it needs to continually hit that spot and it needs to do so from a good distance ill say 300 yards and more. also as it goes a sniper rifle is only as good as the handler.
The Benjamin or Sheridan pump rifle should never be pumped more than 8 times. See the link below for the owners manual (Crosman owns Benjamin and Sheridan air rifles)
