Well i have a border collie and it has a very long tongue and his sister did to.
There isn't really a smooth-coated border collie. The border collie is a different breed, but the rough collie, with a long double coat, and the smooth collie, with a shorter coat, are pretty closely related. The rough collie and the smooth collie both originated for herding purposes in the British Isles. They have the same general shape, size, and colorations. The only big difference is the coat type.
A 9 month old Border Collie puppy should have about a half a cup of food a day. So, you could either put a forth of a cup in the morning and night, or a half cup once a day. It doesn't really matter.
A dog is a puppy as long as you want it to be.You can call your dog a puppy as long as you want because it will always be your puppy. But once it hits 3 or 4 it will be considered as a dog. But that doesn't mean that it will not be active once it's maybe 10 it won't really play that much. My dog is 3 and I still call it a puppy. My cousin has a dog and it's 8 and she still calls it a puppy. But my dog is very playful and active still. It's a Border Collie.
No. The breed referred to as just the "Collie" is a very different breed than the Border Collie. In fact, the Collie is usually called a Rough Collie or Smooth Collie, based on whether it has long or short hair. Some Hollywood examples of each: Lassie was a Collie. Fly from the movie Babe was a Border Collie. There are other breeds with Collie in the name, such as Bearded Collies, Farm Collies, Scotch Collies. Collie is a general herding type dog description.
Any short leash will be suitable for training a Collie puppy. The most important training technique is using a short leash while teaching the puppy to walk at one's side and not pull on the leash. Long reel leashes are not recommended for training the puppy. The short leash should always be slack.
Well, being a mix probably 12-16 years.
Some breeders may choose to dock Schapso puppies tails, others don't. As there is no official Breed Standard for the Schapso, it is a matter of personal taste if this ''breed'' is docked or not.
Considering you want to leave your HYPERACTIVE BORDER COLLIE alone for so long, they need to burn off all that energy that you as an owner kept pent up. If you leave them that long (with out being boarded or where somone can take care of them) then you have to run, walk, jog, play and do everything you can when you come home to burn off that HYPERACTIVE BORDER COLLIE's hyperactiveness! Never leave your dog along for days at a time, only hours.
Absolutely not. He would have to come inside every two hours to warm up. I wouldn't even let him out for that long. A Border Collie's coat is simply not thick enough to withstand those types of temperature.
Yes. Dogs and wolves have bred with each other for a long time, their genes are very similar.
It can if you are just going to work or something, as long as you give it lots of water and food, of but not if you are going on holiday for a long time.
