A 9 month old Border Collie puppy should have about a half a cup of food a day. So, you could either put a forth of a cup in the morning and night, or a half cup once a day. It doesn't really matter.
As much as your puppy wants to eat. If a puppy has enough play time and stimulation they can eat as much as they like.
I never had a creedy dog and i put it down to giving it as much food as it likes and i never had a overweight dog.
Same with people; eat as much as you like as long as you excersice enough!
I rocomend that you feed,an averige sized, border collie around 700 grams of dry dog food.

It depends on some factors. What follows are some guidelines on feeding a Border Collie, http://dogtime.com/dog-breeds/border-collie/feeding
Border collie puppies should be fed twice a day. Feed at the same time each day. Follow directions on bag for feeding adult border collies. If the dog is more active, a little more food may be needed.
These dogs are VERY hyperactive. If you get one, you'll need a big backyard, a large open field, or a park nearby. Their instincts are to herd, so if you have any small children, do NOT get a Border Collie. We had one when my sister was a baby and we had to get rid of her because she nipped at her. So, I'm saying this one more time, if you have small children, do NOT get a border collie. For food, feed it normal dry dog food like iams or purina dog chow. There are certain foods for certain needs, like strength, energy, shiny coat and teeth, and also a puppy formula. A few days after getting your border collie, go to the veterinarian to see if your border collie needs some shots or if they have worms (If they're a puppy they most likely have worms). You'll also need to take them on plenty of walks, get them lots of toys, and give them lots of attention. You can learn more about the breed in dog care books and you'll need to train your dog too.
I perfer kibbles because its moist and hard and has a great taste to it, it makes my border collie go crazy:p but yea she likes it:)
You should stop feeding your dog puppy food when it reaches about 1 year. A typical puppy will reach adult size when its about 8-12 months.
A collie should eat between two and three cups of food per day. This should be divided into two meals. The dog should be fed in the morning, and again in the late afternoon.
it should tell you on the back of the food package. usually 3months
Either puppy wet food or Puppy dry food it doesn't matter but as long as it say puppy food.
At that age you can start him on adult dog food.
